Year 4
'Creating Lifelong Learning Opportunities for Everyone'
Welcome to Year 4
Year 4 is a key year for strengthening independence, resilience and responsibility for learning. Building on the foundations of Year 3, pupils are supported to become more confident, reflective and self-motivated learners who are ready to take on greater challenge.
Our approach encourages pupils to manage their time and resources effectively, take ownership of their learning and develop strong learning habits. Children are supported to persevere with more demanding tasks, reflect thoughtfully on their progress and respond positively to feedback, within a culture of high expectations and support.
We place a strong emphasis on communication, collaboration and social development. Pupils are encouraged to work respectfully with others, articulate their thinking and take pride in the quality of their work. A broad and engaging curriculum supports children to deepen their understanding and apply their learning across a range of subjects.
Year 4 is a purposeful, inclusive and ambitious learning environment where pupils are supported to develop the confidence, independence and learning behaviours needed for success in the upper stages of Key Stage 2.
Here you can view our Curriculum Newsletter which will tell you all about what your child will be learning this term.
